Is it a Boy or a Girl?

So, Wednesday the 17th, Jamie and I, along with both girls went to the OB's office to get an ultrasound and find out what the sex of our third child is going to be. Now, I was demanding a boy, but after Jamie reminded me that I am solely responsible for the sex of the baby, I started doing a lot of macho things to give me some sort of hope that by doing those things, it would actually help us have a boy.

Well, after about 10 minutes of the Tech looking around, we are proud to announce that sometime in October (I can't remember the actual due date) we will be expecting the arrival of our very first baby BOY! We will be posting the pics soon.

Going Private

So, we have decided to have our blog go private. This is Michael by the way. We're going private because I really don't like that just anyone can look at where we live and see my kids and what we are doing. I'm a little weird like that I guess. But, with all the weirdos that are around, I am kinda picky with who can have access to my family. So, if you would like to continue to be able to read our blog and the updates that hopefully Jamie is better at than I am, leave me your email address, and I'll make sure you're added to the list of people who are okay to view it (If you're lucky)! I'll be doing this in the next week or so, so you better hurry up.

Holy Blog Barf!

Sorry for the huge delay, but I have decided that I (Jamie) am going to take over the blog that Michael started for us. Since it had been since forever and there was absolutely no proof of our existence in Texas I just put it all out at once! Someday maybe I will learn to make it cuter but for now this is it. Enjoy!

The Great Outdoors Barrera Style!

One day Michael decided that we were going to start camping as a family. So we went out bought a tent and a battery powered fan and planned our first camping trip. We traveled all the way to our backyard!
We all enjoyed some popcicles,

mike tried S'mores on the grill but it didn't work out so well so we just eat marshmallows!

The rest of the night went something like this...

7pm the tent is up and ella wants to go to sleep
8pm we realize we don't have batteries for the fan michael swears he can't sleep without so we run to wal-mart
9pm we get the girls into pj's and get the sleeping arrangements figured out
9:30 the girls are in bed
!0:35 after telling lola to lay down and ella to stop laughing at lola 37,000 times lola finally falls asleep.
10:40 michael realizes that camping is not for him and heads inside to sleep.
10:41 ella gets on the air mattress with me and promtly falls asleep
11pmish i finally fall asleep
11:15 the neighbors come outside for what sounds like a pool party with intoxicated guests and barking dogs.
12:15 they go inside and i fall back asleep
1am the temperature which had been around 90 all day finally drops so i wake up very cold and go inside to get blankets.
1:15 back asleep for good!
6:05 sun rise!

Party Time!

Due to my lousy time management skills, and partly because I was in denial that my first baby could possibly be turning 4, Ella's party was planned two days prior to her birthday and the invatations were given by phone, but we all still had a lot of fun any way!

No way can this be happening alreadY!

Oh but it is. Ella has received her first bouquet of flowers from a boy!

I'm not sure what it is but something about Ella has all the boys in Texas fighting for her affection. Rerly does a primary class or playgroup go by without a proposal or a boy crying because he can't sit by ella!

And now for her birthday Dash, a fellow sunbeam, brought her flowers. She was totally thrilled and I think it even made me blush. Mike on the other hand is just getting nervous for the future!

The quietest lunch we have ever had!

Going...
Going...
Gone!
After a great morning of playing we had an even better nap time!

Sisters!

I swear that they do love each other! Although this picture doesn't quite capture it Lola is actually a fabulous hugger.

This is the last picture I have of Ella as a 3 year old!

And this one is just cute!

Easter

This is the best picture that we got of the girls sitting together thanks to Brenden Rensinks Jell-O Easter eggs!

Here is one with Emmie Rensink in it. I think this may be the only proof we have of their visit thanks to my lousy photography work.
Oh no wait here is part of Julianne!

It really was great to have our best neighbors ever down for Easter!

How to eat an olive. By Ella and Lola Barrera.

ZOO DAY!

In march Grandma and Papa a.k.a Rik and Louann came for a visit and we got our much needed Nebraska fix! The whole visit was fabulous, but I think the high light may have been our visit to the Fort Worth Zoo!

Mint Chip. In case you were wondering! :)

ELLA'S, tear tear, FIRST, sniffle, HAIRCUT. sniff sniff.

Okay, so I was probably the only one crying over this but it really was sad for me. Here are the before and afters. In reverse order sorry, I am new at this. It really does make her hair look thicker!

Our First Bloom!

I was so happy when after absolutly NO work on my part we got a beautiful flower in our front yard! I don't even know what it is ( I think someone said an Iries or something maybe) but I love it!

One plus for Texas, I'm pretty sure it was like the first week of march when I took these pictures of the girls by the flower!

On a sadder note I think only two more ever bloomed anyone know how to fix that?

messy faces!!

Lola started out looking so adorable as usual...

untill the brownie batter was given out. Delicious and very, very messy!

I don't even have a before pictue of Ella, probably because she can sniff out anything with sugar from a mile away and started licking before I could even grab the camara.

One mess that is even harder to clean then brownie...

spaghetti o's. Man that girl can eat!
